Same Old Vince?

Reports out of Tennessee are saying that Vince Young may be unhappy with his current role on the team, and blames the media for changing his public perception. It was obviously the media’s fault for filming him during a football game as his coach had to beg him to return to the game. Yeah… Vincy didn’t like being booed. If anybody was willing to pay me millions to play a game, the fans could tar and feather me weekly. I can’t even begin to tell you what I would do for Vince Young type money without blushing, and consequently being left by my girlfriend.

Vince Young may look like a man, but has the brain of a child. He has issues with negative reinforcement, and acts irrationally and hastily when provoked. This is not the mindset needed to successfully quarterback an NFL team. Being secure, smart, and responsible can make the difference between a Joe Montana and a Geoff George. Pretty soon Ryan Leaf is going to be thanking Vince for making him look good.

To be honest; I think the stories surrounding his retirement last year, his suicidal aspirations, and even the photo shown above, could be fabricated. Even if these stories lack some truth, he doesn’t pass the sniff-test when I see him on TV or hear him interviewed. This is not a confident stable man, this is a guy with too much on his plate, or with mental issues.

Vince could walk away from football now, and never have to deal with these unhealthy pressures again. I’m sure he has plenty to fall back on after keeping such a close eye on his studies at the bastion of higher-learning known as UT. I just hope he did better on his GRE’s than his Wonderlic Test, when he scored one of the lowest scores recorded. Vince buddy; I feel for you, I really do, but let’s get serious. You can only do one thing, play quarterback poorly, but still manage to win games. So get a shrink, do some sprints, put on the big boy pants and continue to win games while completing less than 50% of your passes.
