On December 3rd, Larry Johnson faces charges for assault.  According to ESPN.com, Johnson is in trouble for pushing a woman, which marks the 3rd time he has faced similar charges.  Normally I’m against assaulting women, and in support of punitive punishment for those convicted.  However in this case, I think either this is a big misunderstanding, or maybe it was all her fault.  Although, I will admit that I may be bias because I have Johnson in both of my fantasy leagues.

We should show Larry leniency, and not just for the sake of my leagues, but also for the possible money I could make from said leagues.  I’ve already been rendered virtually “Mossless” by the inconsistent play of the new mush-puff of a quarterback; Matt Cassell.  Obviously, Johnson isn’t the cornerstone of any fantasy teams, (incidentally, if he’s your cornerstone, join my league next year) but between injuries, suspensions, and generally lousy play, we have limited players left to hang our hopes on.  Cedric Benson is starting to look like Adrian Peterson, and he’s only had four carries.

The legal system in this country needs to stop worrying about trivial issues like killing dogs, domestic assault, or massive cocaine possessions.  They need to pay more attention to big things, like the effect their accusations are having on the fantasy football world.  I beg the authorities to look the other way from time to time, not for me so much, but the greater good for all.  Make no arrests, hold no trials, and certainly keep Roger Goodell in the dark about anything concerning NFL players and their indiscretions.  After all, these football players have tons of money, and are going to get away with everything anyway. (see- O.J. Simpson, Ray Lewis, Matt Jones, Kevin Faulk, Dave Meggett,  Randy Moss, etc…)
